BEComing a Green Office

Berg Engineering Consultants Ltd.

A Silver Showcase

Brian Berg, Jr., Principal at Berg Engineering Consultants, Ltd.
We began this endeavor to showcase our Green Design capabilities, now that it is done, we really love the higher quality, more efficient lighting. In many instances, the light levels, with the lamps dimmed 50%, is adequate. To put that in perspective, if having all the lamps at 100% on uses 31% less energy than code, then having the lamps dimmed 50% is a huge savings.

A Story of Growth

Berg Engineering Consultants, a mechanical/electrical/plumbing engineering firm, had their current office designed and built in 1981. Growth of the firm necessitated an expansion to the existing facility in 1985. When the 4,460 square foot addition was completed, the firm moved out of their existing office and into the new addition. The existing 2,250 square foot facility was converted into leasable tenant space. Increasing growth in the firm made it necessary to renovate the entire building and to take over the tenant space in the original part of the building. The total office space, has increased to 6,800 square feet.

The Green Details
