Edward L. Wright, AIA, LEED® AP BD+C

PRINCIPAL, ARCHITECT, VICE PRESIDENT OF BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

Some architects see buildings as cookie-cutter boxes; Ed Wright sees them as a puzzle. This innate sense of curiosity and talent for problem-solving serves him well as a principal at DLA Architects. He also has a deep understanding of building systems and construction logistics thanks to his early experience in the construction trades.
Ed has led many award-winning projects including Homewood-Flossmoor High School’s Field House and the Renovations at Kankakee High School.

He holds two degrees from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor: a Bachelor of Science in Architecture and a Master of Architecture.

Watching or attending sports games are a favorite pastime. When not taking advantage of all of the things that Chicago has to offer, Ed finds time to head home to Michigan. Here he spends time with his sister, niece and nephew… and his close extended family that consists of 20+ first cousins.

When I was younger, I worked in various aspects of construction, from estimating to working as a laborer and Millwright. This really piqued my interest in how the different components of a building fit into place and how construction logistics work. I knew I wanted to be a part of the process of figuring out what pieces are best for a project and where they belong in the big picture.
