Central Campus - Industrial Technology Addition

Client:
Minooka Community High School District 111

Minooka Community High School District 111, in collaboration with DLA Architects Ltd., is leading the charge in modernizing K12 education with cutting-edge Career and Technical Education (CTE) spaces. This project, a key element of the district’s comprehensive facilities plan, is designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in skilled trades and advanced technology fields.

This project will add a 32,100-square-foot expansion and remodel 24,100 square feet of existing space, creating an environment designed for immersive, hands-on learning. Highlights include state-of-the-art facilities such as a high-tech auto shop, an advanced welding workshop, a cutting-edge robotics and electricity lab, and a professional-grade commercial kitchen. Additionally, the project will house specialized spaces like the Construction Lab, Woodworking Lab, and Metal Fabrication Lab. These specialized spaces are designed to inspire students to explore in-demand career paths while mastering valuable technical skills.

With technology playing an increasingly vital role in the trades, the design prioritizes long-term scalability. This ensures the facility remains adaptable to future technological advancements and supports growing enrollment.

The new CTE program spaces resolve the challenges of outdated facilities and limited capacity, effectively meeting growing student demand. Designed with flexibility and modern aesthetics, the space inspires students to excel. Whether preparing for college, skilled careers, or entering the workforce, students at Minooka Central Campus will soon benefit from on-site, hands-on, real-world learning to set them up for success.
