Awarded projects exhibited clarity of concept, innovation and creativity in response to the specifics of program, users, community and site. Other considered criteria included: being progressive, inclusive usage, regional contextualism, use of regional materials, historical elements, contextual responsiveness, sustainability, site adaptability, landscape integration, aesthetic and economic use of materials, support of educational objectives, integration of a school’s distinctive brand, full building system integration, creative ways to meet the budget, and a cohesive and inspired design concept.
