Fieldhouse Addition at Hononegah Community High School, Hononegah Community High School District 207, Rockton, IL awarded Outstanding Project from Learning By Design

LEARNING BY DESIGN’s distinguished fall 2019 jury of six architects and end-user’s applauded DLA Architects, Ltd. for its accomplishment in designing the Hononegah Community High School Fieldhouse Addition. All projects included in this edition are all peer-reviewed. The jury discusses and looks for in each project unique and or new concepts being implemented to improve education facility building design. Projects such as the Hononegah Community High School Fieldhouse Addition are scored on six measures: Innovation, Community Need, Interior Design, Sustainability, Functional Design, and 21st Century Learning.

The Jury comments about this project included: “This is a highly functional fieldhouse addition, a critical use need for both the school and community. The attention to bringing daylight in, where feasible, enhances training and meeting areas, and the “History Wall” of volunteer-selected images is an impactful design feature connecting the community and school to their shared past.”
