Restoration of the Turret House

Preserving the Past

This 1901 structure was purchased by the Village of Schaumburg to be used as a counseling center. The building underwent a complete renovation inside and out.

Restoring the details

Located in a historic district, this building was renovated in the spirit of the period in which it was built. The entire exterior was fully restored with new siding. Windows were cleaned and repaired. The roof was patched. On the inside, hard wood floors and a stair were refinished. The existing washroom was renovated to meet ADA requirements.

An Addition for Accessiblity

The building was made handicapped accessible by locating a lift within the confines of a small addition on the back of the house. The addition was designed to coordinate with the existing exterior, blending nicely with the site and the neighborhood.
