The design scheme for the Library Media Center was to create a “Family Room”-feel. To meet this goal, the focal element of the Media Center is an oak veneer reading nook, modeled after a hearth, that gives the space a sense of warmth with a residential ambiance.

In addition to serving as a resource for a large collection of books and multimedia, the Library Media Center functions as a space for small group learning.  It also has been designed to house a production area.

People today need to know more than the basics of Reading and Writing to be literate. Technology is now a fundamental component of 21st century literacy. The Library Media Center is equipped with today’s essential multi-media equipment. In addition, wireless access is provided throughout.
