Due to the lack of space in a building constructed in the 1950s, small group and one-on-one meetings could not be accommodated. These smaller sessions typically were relegated to take place in the building corridors, former storage closets and on carts that travel from room to room.

The solution was an addition and remodeling to accommodate new uses and expand existing uses. Smaller group learning environments and dedicated breakout spaces in the corridors for provide an inviting both inside and out of the library media center. The library itself was expanded, along with it’s computer lab.

The project design, schedule and goals were a result of months of meetings between DLA and the District School Board, building administration, staff focus groups, community forums, parent feedback and Village input.
