Administrative Office Design featured in AS&U Magazine

Office Design honored as one of nation’s most Outstanding Learning EnvironmentsAdministration Office Design at Homewood Flossmoor Community High School featured in American School & University Magazine’s Educational Interiors Showcase honoring the nation’s most Outstanding Learning Environments.

The project is a great example of how a client’s brand personality can be integrated into a space. The remodeled area was a small portion of a much larger facility, so an important part of the program was for the new space to coordinate with the overall character of the campus. The school’s colors and logo were interjected throughout the design, enhancing the sense of place. The goal of the new design was to create a functional administrative suite to serve as a transparent, yet confidential working environment. The program includes private offices for the District Superintendent and staff, conference rooms, a work room, storage rooms, a kitchenette, and reception area.

A jury of American Institute of Architects (AIA) members and education administrators evaluated submissions from architectural firms, schools and universities across the country. Each project was judged based on the following considerations: purposeful design, cost-efficient solutions and planning, inviting and engaging spaces, designs that create new solutions and uses, sensitivity to the community, transparent and integrated technology and innovation and creativity. Seventy-two projects were chosen for publication.
